What are the most frequently used delivery agreements internationally?

In terms of our services, DTNO.1 offers various exportation methods that can be tailored to fit each customer’s requirements. The most common delivery agreements that we can do with our buyers are EXW, CFR, and FOB.

What are those delivery agreements?
EXW (Ex Works): The price of goods at the factory, where the seller only needs to deliver the goods to a location specified by the buyer, and the buyer is responsible for all transportation, insurance, and tariff costs.

CRF (Cost and Freight): The price of goods that includes both the cost and the freight charges, where the seller is responsible for shipping the goods to the destination port and covering the cost of transportation within China, but the buyer is responsible for insurance and the costs from the destination port to the final destination.

FOB (Free on Board): The price of goods that includes the cost of loading the goods onto a vessel and completing customs procedures in China, at which point the delivery responsibility transfers to the buyer. The seller is responsible for the loading fee and domestic transportation costs, but the buyer is responsible for sea freight, insurance, and the costs from the destination port to the final destination.

Why we recommend FOB?
The reason why we recommend buyers to choose FOB is that buyers can entrust us with all the actions before shipping the goods to their destination country, including customs clearance procedures in China. Most importantly, we can help buyers apply for the export tax rebate at Chinese customs, which allows them to purchase our products at a lower price.

These are the most frequently used methods that we recommend our buyers take. However, some of our buyers operate small businesses and are not qualified to clear goods in their destination countries’ customs. Additionally, some of our buyers are importing goods for the first time and have no experience with the process. For these buyers, we can assist in handling the entire process of exporting and importing, including both customs, and take responsibility for shipping the goods from our factory to their inventory.
